Nine Florida Businesses Compete for $145,000


Rural Entrepreneaurship ChallengeFlorida Farm Bureau would like to recognize the following Florida applicants for entering into the Farm Bureau® Rural Entrepreneurship Challenge, a business competition focused exclusively on rural entrepreneurs working on food and agriculture businesses.

DELTA GLOW, Alachua County
Foliagelink, Broward County
Havana Community Development Corporation, Gadsden County
Blues Berry Farm LLC, Hillsborough County
Birdy’s Bees, Levy County
Brew Radly, Leon County
NetWire, Miami-Dade County
Alpacas of Willow Hill, LLC, Volusia County
Fruitland Station, Duval County

A total of $145,000 in startup funds will be distributed to 10 agriculture and food businesses in rural communities. The top 10 teams will be announced in October 2016 in Washington, D.C. The top teams include six semi-finalist teams that will each receive $10,000 and four finalist teams that will compete for $85,000. The finalist teams will compete in a live competition at AFBF’s 98th Annual Convention in Phoenix, AZ in January 2017.
