Delegates Re-elect Florida Farm Bureau President

Oct. 30, 2015

Delegates at Florida Farm Bureau’s 2015 Annual Meeting re-elected Volusia County fern grower John Hoblick to his sixth consecutive term as president of the organization. First elected as Florida Farm Bureau president in 2006, Hoblick will begin his new two-year term in December.

The vote was taken during a general session of delegates on Oct. 30. The delegates represent all areas of the state as well as a cross-section of Florida’s agricultural producers.

In his comments at the close of the meeting, Hoblick said he was honored to serve as Florida Farm Bureau President. “I want to thank the entire Farm Bureau membership for the support I have been fortunate to receive while serving in this office,” Hoblick stated. “I will work at the best of my ability as we move forward together with our policy objectives, our educational programs and our participation in community and charitable projects.

“I know that Florida Farm Bureau is poised for another successful year because of our grassroots participation. Our Farm Bureau family makes us all successful.”

In other action at the annual meeting, the Florida Farm Bureau Board of Directors re-elected Lafayette County dairyman Rod Land as treasurer and re-elected Hardee County citrus farmer Steve Johnson as secretary.

More than 500 members and guests attended the event, held at the Sawgrass Marriott Resort in Ponte Vedra Beach, Oct. 28-30.
