AEST Industry Relations Manager

The Industry Relations Manager will report to Director of Agriculture Educations Services and Technology (‘AEST’). This position will be responsible developing strong and meaningful partnerships with agricultural industry associations and businesses and serve as the primary management contact for agriculture industry partners. Excellent organizational, communication, time management, critical thinking, project management, and effective team working skills are essential. Willingness to travel within the state by auto and occasional out-of-state air travel for a day and/or overnight events.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Build, develop, and advance external strategic partner relationships with academia, the agriculture industry, government, and nongovernmental agencies
• Assist in identifying opportunities pertaining to certification areas and help secure grants to expand the program and keep abreast of changing market needs and trends
• Direct our outreach efforts to build brand awareness and promote AEST’s various certification programs by assessing engagements
• Responsible for managing all activities to promote AEST certifications through social media platforms and creating and delivering press releases, media relations content, and speeches
• Develop a marketing plan to increase brand awareness and promote AEST certifications to various audiences at meetings and tradeshows
• Secure program and certification endorsements from agricultural industry partners
• Collect and analyze data from industry partners, agricultural commodity associations, and governmental agencies to track certification use in agriculture employment
• Perform other duties as assigned

COMPUTER SKILLS: Advanced knowledge of computers to include Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher and Internet usage are required. Preferred candidate will possess graphic design skills and have a working knowledge of Word Press, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelors’ degree from a four-year college or
university with 1 to 3 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and
experience. An agricultural education, agricultural marketing, or agricultural
communications background is preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals,
professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations. Ability to effectively
write reports, business correspondences and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively
present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers
and the general public. Will provide a two page-writing sample and a self-created
promotional flyer.

REASONING SKILLS: Ability to solve practical problem situations where only limited
information exists. Ability to interpret and follow a variety of instructions furnished in
written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Analytical ability, including the ability to exercise
judgement and make sound recommendations. Ability to multitask and manage multiple
tasks through strong organizational and time management skills.

LICENSES: Must possess a valid State of Florida driver’s licenses.
