Young Farmers & Ranchers

About the Young Farmers & Ranchers

Florida Farm Bureau's Young Farmers and Ranchers are active members between the ages of 18 and 35.

There are several programs which recognize the importance of young farmers' and ranchers' contributions. Each year, active members in that age group have the opportunity to compete in the Achievement in Agriculture Award Program and participate in the state Discussion Meet. In addition, the Farm Bureau Excellence in Agriculture Award Program is designed as an opportunity for Young Farmers & Ranchers who do not derive the majority of their income from an owned agricultural operation to earn recognition. Participants are judged on their involvement in agriculture, leadership ability, involvement and participation in Farm Bureau and other organizations (i.e., civic, service and community).
