Florida Farm Bureau Federation names Kevin Morgan executive director

Kevin Morgan has been appointed executive director of the Florida Farm Bureau Federation. John L. Hoblick, president of the Federation, announced his appointment. In his new position, Morgan will oversee and coordinate the activities of the Agricultural Policy, Field Services and Public Relations divisions.

Morgan joined Florida Farm Bureau in 1984 as coordinator of Young Farmer and Women’s programs. In 1992 he moved to the Agricultural Policy Division as assistant director. He was named associate director in 1997 and director of the division in 2004. The Agricultural Policy Division is responsible for managing Farm Bureau’s policy development and implementation efforts, commodity advisory committees, and environmental services programs.

Morgan is familiar with legal and regulatory requirements relating to agriculture and has special expertise in agricultural labor and employment law, pesticide regulations and worker protection standards. He has experience with issues related to vegetable, horticulture, tobacco, forestry and invasive pests. He attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and graduated from Lake City Community College in 1978.

He and his wife, Cindy, have two children and live on their family farm in White Springs. They are active in the Jasper Presbyterian Church.
