New book displays rich photo appreciation of Florida, other U.S. farmers and ranchers

A new book published this month presents a visual showcase of U.S. farmers and ranchers. Titled “American Farmer: The Heart of Our Country,” the publication features a collection of images by Paul Mobley, an independent professional photographer.

Mobley visited parts of Florida last year to take photographs of several Sunshine State farmers and ranchers. Among the Florida people announced to appear in the book are notable Florida Farm Bureau members Imogene Yarborough and her sons (Seminole County), the Worden family (Charlotte County), Roy Davis (Hillsborough County), Walter Jackson (Indian River County), Ed Froehlich (Orange County) and Reuben Robinson (DeSoto County). A portion of the proceeds from sales will be donated to the American Farm Bureau Foundation.

Published by Welcome Books and distributed by Random House, American Farmer is billed as “the first portrait collection of modern American farmers ever published to reach so deeply and gracefully into its subject.”

The hardcover tabletop book features 264 pages of full color and black-and-white photographs, along with brief commentaries. Florida Farm Bureau members may purchase the book at a 10 percent discount. To order, access the following Internet address: http://welcomebooks.com/index.php?main_page=discount_coupon
