Brian Buckley of Brooksville has joined the staff of the Leesburg-based Florida Agricultural Marketing Association (FAMA) as manager of the Direct Marketing Division. Buckley will oversee the Farm Bureau Buyers Club, which distributes agricultural products from Florida and other states to Farm Bureau members through county Farm Bureaus.
FAMA is a subsidiary of the Florida Farm Bureau Federation, which is based in Gainesville. It markets Florida products in 25 states through association fund raising activities and county Farm Bureaus. It also sells those products to Farm Bureau members in Florida.
“The Farm Bureau Buyers Club is part of an extensive package of benefits and discounts available exclusively to Farm Bureau members,” said Roy Singleton, FAMA director.
Buckley, who is originally from Gainesville, holds a marketing degree from the University of Florida. He represents the seventh generation of a family that has been deeply involved in Florida’s agriculture industry, from forestry to cattle production. He taught agricultural education in Hillsborough County for two years. Brian also serves on the Youth Swine Committee of the Florida State Fair. Most recently, Brian was a sales representative for ADP, an international company that provides contractual services to businesses. He and his wife, Bertha, have a two-year-old daughter, Grace.
The Florida Farm Bureau Federation is the state’s largest general-interest agricultural association with about 140,000 member-families statewide. Headquartered in Gainesville, the Federation is an independent, nonprofit agricultural organization.
