Florida Farm Bureau’s magazine’s Web site has readers flipping
(Gainesville, Fla.) – The “Voice of Agriculture" flagship publication has a new online look that has Florida Farm Bureau members turning pages like never before.

FloridAgriculture Magazine is the official publication sent to Florida Farm Bureau’s 140,000+ members in printed form on a monthly basis. It is also available online to anyone with a Web browser at http://FloridAgriculture.org.
A new Web site for the magazine recently went live, giving online readers the ability to thumb through the magazine in pretty much the same fashion that they would a printed version.
“We’re excited about our new ‘page-turn’ technology that gives Web site visitors a lot more options than was the case with our old site,” said FloridAgriculture Editor Ed Albanesi. “Our advertisers also get the benefit of having their display ads appear in the online version.”
Online readers can grab the top corner of each page and actually flip to the next spread of pages. When they get there they can zoom in or out and they also have the ability to click on titles to get a print-quality version.
Another feature of the new site is hot links to all the Web site and e-mail addresses that are contained in both the editorial copy and the advertisements. “This gives our advertisers considerable value added for the advertising dollars they spend with us by allowing online readers to quickly click through to their Web sites,” said Albanesi.
Another feature provides quick, online translations of articles and features into any one of six foreign languages.
Albanesi said that Farm Bureau has no plans to eliminate the printed version of the magazine but sees the new online version as a strategy to keep up with the latest consumer preferences, especially among the publication’s younger readers.
“The printed version fulfills a demand and will be part of our plans for years to come,” he says. “At the same time we will embrace newer technologies and keep our product current with the times.”
