Bobby Floyd, Hardee County

Bobby Floyd is an Environmental Specialist I for the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. He has worked for FDACS for almost two years at the office in Avon Park, FL. His official title is a Nematode Inspector, in this position Floyd works with nursery growers in order for them to be able to ship plants to Texas, Louisiana, Arizona and California by collecting soil samples. Floyd has been with Farm Bureau for over six years and was one of the founding members of the Hardee County YF&R. Floyd holds his A.A degree from South Florida State College and a Bachelor of Science in Food & Resource Economics from the University of Florida. His outside interest includes clay shooting, college football and volunteering with the Hardee County Sheriff’s Posse.

Jake Pendergrass, Hardee County

Jake Pendergrass works for The Groves of Peace River, a family operation out of Zolfo Springs, Fl.  The Groves of Peace River produces a variety of citrus including Grapefruit, Navels, Hamlin and Valencia oranges. He also owns and operates Pendergrass Farms, a cow/calf operation with Brangus and South Poll Cattle. Pendergrass also serves as the treasurer for Highlands County YFR. Pendergrass received a bachelor’s degree in Citrus and Horticulture science from Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Fl. His outside interests include checking the cows with his wife, Miranda, hunting, playing golf and watching college football.
