State Legislative Language Seeks to Limit Where Ag Products Can be Sold
Ask Your State Senator to Oppose This Language today!
ISSUE:
There is an effort underway to limit the use of biomass in several renewable energy bills being taken up the Florida legislature today. Florida Farm Bureau has been working hard to keep language out of several bills that would limit where an agricultural commodity could be sold.
BACKGROUND:
Florida Farm Bureau has strong policy supporting a broad definition of biomass. There is a concern amongst existing users of forest products that the proposed energy bill would negatively affect their industry. While Farm Bureau realizes the importance of this industry, we still believe that an agricultural commodity should not be limited for its use by statute.
ACTION:
Please contact your state Senator and urge them not to support any bills that would limit the use of an agricultural commodity.
