Florida Farm Bureau has had a great year. We initiated the “Strong Family Farms, Strong Florida” initiative, which will continue into 2010, and achieved our membership quota. American Farm Bureau awarded Florida five Awards of Excellence in all measured program areas, and a President’s Award for Agricultural Promotion and Education. I am looking forward to the American Farm Bureau Annual Meeting Jan. 10-13 in Seattle, where I will formally accept these awards on behalf of our members and staff.
This is a great way to end the first decade of the 21st Century. I have planned a second round of listening sessions with Farm Bureau leaders for early 2010. These are scheduled around the state beginning in February. For more specifics on Florida Farm Bureau’s stellar accomplishments on behalf of Florida agriculture and our members, take a look at our 2009 Annual Report.
