Adam Basford

Adam Basford serves as the National Affairs Coordinator in the Agricultural Policy and National Affairs Division of the Florida Farm Bureau Federation.

He is responsible for all federal legislative issues as well as working directly with Florida's Congressional delegation and their staff. Adam coordinates Farm Bureau’s grassroots lobbying efforts. He manages the Farm Bureau Agricultural Contact Team (FBACT), an online program which enables members to easily interact with elected officials on issues of importance to agriculture. Adam also serves as the staff member responsible for the Peanut/Cotton, Sugar and Citrus advisory committees. Adam was an assistant director in the Agricultural Policy Division from 2004-2008 and worked as an intern in Farm Bureau’s Public Relations Division in 2003.

Raised on a Jackson County peanut and hog farm, Adam is the seventh generation of his family directly involved in Florida agriculture. In 2004, he received his master’s degree in agricultural communications from the University of Florida. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in organizational communications from the University of West Florida. He is a graduate of Class VII of the Wedgworth Leadership Institute for Agriculture and Natural Resources.
